Are Attitude Cleaning Products Non-Toxic? My Review (2026)

Attitude cleaning products review

I first asked myself whether Attitude cleaning products are non-toxic back in 2014, long before this Attitude brand review was even an idea. Back then, clean, plant-based sprays and liquids were extremely hard to come by. But I was desperately searching for a safer alternative to every conventional cleaning supply I had been using.

At the time, I was dealing with the worst eczema flare-up of my life, and even so-called gentle cleaners for sensitive skin were still triggering painful reactions. Adding a Hashimoto’s diagnosis into the mix made me extra cautious. Knowing there are links between toxins and thyroid health, I didn’t want to take any chances in my home.

Ingredients commonly found in mainstream cleaners, such as sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), synthetic fragrances, chlorine, and ammonia, caused my skin to burn, crack, and become severely inflamed. I wanted the least toxic home cleaners possible, other than my castile soap. Something as close to homemade as I could get, but actually effective at removing dirt, grime, and properly cleaning bathrooms, kitchens, dishes, cookware, and everyday surfaces.

Fast forward to 2026, and my standards are even higher now that I’m pregnant. Certain chemicals can be inhaled or absorbed through the skin and may affect hormonal balance, fetal development, or respiratory health. This Attitude cleaning products review is based on my honest experience using 5 of their most popular plant-based formulas for years, evaluating both product effectiveness and brand values.

About the Brand Attitude

ATTITUDE is a Canadian brand founded in 2006 with a mission to create safer, cleaner everyday products without compromise. The brand was born when founder Jean-François Bernier, preparing to welcome his first child, began questioning the safety of the products families use daily. What started as a parental concern quickly evolved into a larger commitment. To help build a healthier future for the next generation through better chemistry and greater transparency.

From the get-go, ATTITUDE set out to prove that clean products don’t have to sacrifice performance. Their EWG®, FSC®, and PETA formulas are developed in Canada using carefully selected, naturally sourced ingredients and are continuously evaluated against evolving scientific research. The brand closely follows strict standards and screens ingredients using databases such as California’s Proposition 65 to avoid substances of concern.

That said, I would love to see even more third-party certifications in the future that further reinforce the purity and integrity of their ingredients.

In 2026, the brand offers makeup, skincare, bodycare, as well as aluminum-free sunscreen, clean chapstick, non-toxic deodorants, and, of course, home cleaning products.

Sustainability is also very important for the clean brand. From plastic-free and FSC-certified cardboard packaging to refill systems, aluminum bottles, and solid formats, the brand actively works to reduce waste and environmental impact. Even more impressively, ATTITUDE owns and operates its own state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Canada, allowing full control over quality, innovation, and sustainability at every step.

Today, its products are available in more than 55 countries and are trusted by families worldwide who value transparency, ethical practices, and high-performing clean alternatives.

Is ATTITUDE a Natural Brand?

Yes, ATTITUDE is widely regarded as a natural brand. Their household cleaning products are formulated with a high percentage of plant‑ and mineral‑derived ingredients and leave out many of the harsh chemicals found in conventional cleaners, such as ammonia, bleach, phthalates, and artificial colorants. Most of their formulas also use simpler surfactants like glucosides instead of petroleum‑derived detergents. While “natural” isn’t a regulatory term with a universal definition, ATTITUDE’s ingredient lists do favor naturally sourced components and avoid many red‑flag synthetic substances.

Is ATTITUDE Greenwashed?

No, ATTITUDE is not greenwashed in the way that many brands claim “natural” while still using toxic ingredients behind vague marketing. They provide full ingredient disclosure, avoid a long list of concerning chemicals, and many of their household cleaners are ranked in the safer category by independent databases like the EWG — and some products are even EWG VERIFIED™. Greenwashing usually involves hiding harmful ingredients behind buzzwords, but ATTITUDE’s formulas and labeling are transparent enough that third‑party reviewers can verify what’s actually inside them.

Attitude All-Purpose Cleaner Review

Attitude cleaning products review

This is my go-to Attitude cleaning spray for pretty much every surface, whether it needs a deep clean or just a quick swipe. Over the years, it has become one of those products I automatically reach for without even thinking twice.

The attitude cleaner spray is vegan, cruelty-free, and formulated with over 97–98% naturally derived ingredients, to tackle everyday dirt while keeping ingredient transparency front and center. It can be used on most indoor and outdoor surfaces, to boot, which is super helpful. It’s also an EWG Verified Product

Ingredients

  • <5% Non-Ionic Surfactants (Caprylyl Glucoside, Myristyl Glucoside): These are plant-derived cleansing agents typically made from glucose (corn or coconut sources) combined with fatty alcohols. They help lift, disperse, and emulsify dirt and grease, and are considered mild and low-toxicity.
  • Aqua (Water): The base solvent of the formula. It dissolves and distributes ingredients.
  • Propanediol: Derived from corn sugar fermentation, this is a solvent and stabilizer that helps maintain texture and ingredient blending. It is generally recognized as safe and commonly used in clean beauty.
  •  Sodium Carbonate (Baking Soda): A naturally occurring mineral salt that helps break down grease and adjust pH for better cleaning power. In skincare, it can be mildly irritating in high concentrations, but it is considered safe in household cleaning dilution.
  •  Citric Acid: This acid is derived from citrus fruits and works as a pH adjuster and mild descaler (helps with hard water residue). It’s very low-toxic for surface cleaning use.
  • Sodium Hydroxide: Also known as lye, it’s used in tiny amounts to balance pH. It can be corrosive in raw form, but in finished formulations, it is neutralized and present at safe levels.
  • Sapindus Mukorossi (Soapnut) Fruit Extract: A natural cleansing extract from soapberries. Its purpose is to provide natural saponins (natural foaming agents).

Fragrance

It’s actually quite interesting that the fragrance in this cleaner isn’t a generic “parfum” blend but is instead derived from specific, naturally occurring aroma compounds. According to the brand’s information, the light citrus scent comes from three individual components: terpineol, decanal, and allyl hexanoate.

Terpineol is a naturally occurring compound found in pine oil and citrus fruits. It’s often used in fine fragrance and even skincare because it has a soft, slightly floral-lilac note rather than a sharp, synthetic smell. It’s generally considered low on the irritation scale compared to many conventional fragrance blends.

Decanal occurs naturally in citrus peels, especially orange and lemon. It’s what gives that fresh, clean citrus top note — but in small amounts, it smells bright and airy rather than overpowering.

Allyl hexanoate is another compound found naturally in fruits and is responsible for subtle fruity notes. It adds freshness without heaviness.

Because the scent is built from just these three lighter aroma compounds — rather than a complex synthetic fragrance cocktail — it makes sense that the overall smell is so mild and barely-there. It also explains why it doesn’t trigger headaches or feel intrusive during use.

From a toxicity standpoint, there are no major red-flag ingredients in this formula.

Performance

In everyday use, this Attitude plant-based cleaner spray performs reliably well. It effectively moistens, disperses, and emulsifies dirt without leaving behind heavy residue.

It works particularly well on:

  • Kitchen counters
  • Bathroom sinks
  • High-touch surfaces
  • Appliance exteriors
  • Outdoor patio furniture
Attitude cleaning products review

For my first real test, I used it on some old kitchen appliances I had unpacked to donate to my local Buy Nothing group. They had built up dust and grime from storage, and I honestly expected to need some scrubbing. But the spray worked amazingly. With just one swipe, the dirt lifted right off, leaving the surfaces clean and fresh without any harsh smell.

I also regularly use this spray with a simple microfiber cloth to clean both the inside and outside of my windows. Granted, they’re never extremely dirty since I wipe them down weekly, but the results are still impressive. It removes fingerprints and light buildup easily and leaves the glass looking clear without streaks or heavy residue.

Are ATTITUDE Cleaning Products Worth It

I also reach for the Attitude Cleaning Spray constantly to clean my kitchen counters, especially when dealing with sticky messes. In one instance, I had honey spilled on the counter, and instead of needing multiple passes or a heavy-duty degreaser, a few sprays and a quick wipe were enough to lift it right off. It cut through the stickiness easily without leaving residue behind, which honestly impressed me for a plant-based formula.

For tougher grime, I let it sit for about 30–60 seconds before wiping. It comes out slightly soapy and can leave a mild film if you use too much, but following up with a damp cloth removes any residue easily.

For daily maintenance cleaning, it absolutely does the job.

This remains my everyday, reach-for-it-without-thinking cleaner.

Refill & Packaging

One of the features I genuinely appreciate is the eco-refill system. Instead of repeatedly buying new plastic bottles, you can reuse the original HDPE #2 bottle and purchase concentrated refills.

From a sustainability standpoint:

  • Recyclable packaging
  • Refillable system
  • Reduced transportation footprint

Now, HDPE #2 (high-density polyethylene) is actually one of the better plastic options available for cleaning product bottles because it’s widely recyclable, durable, lightweight, and has a relatively low risk of chemical leaching. While it’s not the most sustainable material possible, since options like aluminum or glass can be recycled indefinitely, those alternatives come with trade-offs like higher production energy or breakability.

Overall, when paired with Attitude’s eco-refill system, the reusable HDPE bottle becomes a practical and reasonably sustainable choice compared to single-use plastic packaging.

Is Attitude All-Purpose Cleaner Safe For Pets, Pregnancy, and Babies

Based on its ingredient profile, Attitude all-purpose cleaner contains no harsh disinfectants, no chlorine, no ammonia, and no synthetic fragrance blends. So, it’s a much safer alternative to conventional cleaners for households with pets, children, and during pregnancy. For me personally, 7 pregnant and managing autoimmune health, I feel comfortable using it daily.

That said, as with any cleaner:

  • Allow surfaces to dry before contact.
  • Avoid direct ingestion or heavy inhalation.
  • Use in well-ventilated areas.

Is it Antibacterial?

This is important.

The standard Attitude All-Purpose Cleaner is not a registered disinfectant. That means it cleans surfaces effectively by removing dirt and debris, but it is not designed to kill specific bacteria or viruses the way EPA-registered disinfectants do.

For everyday cleaning? Excellent.

For sanitizing after illness? You may want a dedicated disinfectant product.

How to use Attitude all-purpose cleaner?

  1. Spray directly onto the surface.
  2. Let it sit briefly for heavier dirt.
  3. Wipe with a soft sponge or cloth.
  4. Follow with a damp cloth if needed to remove residue.

It works on most sealed surfaces, but always spot-test delicate materials.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Very mild scent
  • No synthetic fragrance
  • Strong ingredient transparency
  • Plant-based surfactants
  • Refillable packaging
  • Gentle enough for sensitive households

Cons

  • Not a disinfectant
  • May leave slight residue if overused
  • Premium price compared to conventional cleaners
  • The bottle is still made of plastic

Attitude Bathroom Cleaner Review

Attitude brand review

Non-toxic cleaning products for the bathroom are very hard to come by. Bathroom cleaning products are often some of the most toxic formulas in a household. Many conventional bathroom sprays contain chlorine bleach, hydrochloric acid, ammonia, synthetic fragrance blends, and harsh disinfectants designed to kill mold and bacteria quickly.

While effective, those ingredients can release strong fumes, irritate the lungs, disrupt hormones, and trigger skin reactions — especially in small, poorly ventilated bathrooms. For someone like me (pregnant, eczema-prone, and mindful of thyroid health), traditional bathroom cleaners were simply not an option.

That’s what made me curious about Attitude’s bathroom cleaner.

Like most Attitude cleaning supplies, this one is formulated with 94% naturally derived ingredients and is a vegan, cruelty-free, andEWG VERIFIED product. This spray is designed to remove soap scum, limescale, and dirt without relying on aggressive chemical disinfectants.

 Ingredients

  • <5% Non-Ionic Surfactants (Myristyl Glucoside, Caprylyl Glucoside): Plant-derived cleansing agents typically sourced from coconut or corn sugars. It basically lifts and emulsifies dirt and soap residue. It’s mild, biodegradable, and has a low irritation risk.
  • Aqua (Water): Base solvent.
  • Citric Acid: Naturally derived from citrus fruits. It breaks down limescale and mineral deposits and hence is an excellent alternative to harsher descaling acids.
  • Propanediol: This is a plant-derived solvent (often from corn). It helps stabilize and dissolve ingredients.
  • Sodium Hydroxide: Used in very small amounts for pH adjustment, it’s necessary for formula stability. Can be corrosive in raw form, but safe at controlled levels in finished products.
  • Xanthan Gum: Naturally fermented thickener. It is used to improve texture and surface cling (important for vertical tiles).
  • Sapindus Mukorossi (Soapnut) Fruit Extract: Natural source of saponins (natural cleansing compounds). It’s biodegradable and plant-based.

Fragrance

Terpineol Acetate, Terpineol, Tetrahydrolinalool, Triethyl Citrate. These are fragrance-related compounds in the ttitude bathroom cleaner spray.

✔ Terpineol: Found naturally in pine and citrus oils.

✔ Tetrahydrolinalool: A milder fragrance compound often used in clean formulations.

✔ Triethyl Citrate: Plant-derived fragrance stabilizer and solvent.

✔ Terpineol Acetate: Contributes to a soft citrus aroma.

Compared to conventional synthetic fragrance blends (which can contain dozens of undisclosed chemicals), this formula appears far more transparent.

Performance

The instructions recommend spraying and letting it sit for 5–10 minutes for optimal effectiveness — and that’s key.

On light soap scum and everyday buildup, it works well with minimal scrubbing. On heavier limescale, letting it sit makes a noticeable difference. It doesn’t “melt grime instantly” like harsh acid-based cleaners, but that’s also not what it’s designed to do.

What I personally noticed:

  • It clings well to tiles and shower glass.
  • It removes fresh soap scum effectively.
  • It leaves a streak-free finish when wiped properly.
  • The citrus scent is light and not overpowering.
Is attitude cleaner safe

One of the first places I tested this spray was on my shower glass doors, where soap scum builds up quickly. I sprayed it generously, let it sit for about 7 minutes while I tidied the rest of the bathroom, and then wiped it down with a microfiber cloth. The cloudy film lifted surprisingly well, and after a quick rinse, the glass looked noticeably clearer without harsh fumes filling the room.

Attitude cleaning supplies review

I also use it regularly on our bathroom sink and faucet, especially around the base where toothpaste and water stains tend to collect. A few sprays and a gentle scrub with a soft sponge are usually enough to break down the buildup. It leaves the chrome looking polished without that overpowering chemical smell most bathroom cleaners leave behind.

Another spot I reach for it is the bathtub — particularly along the waterline where residue can form. After letting it sit for several minutes, I found that it loosens the grime enough that I don’t have to scrub aggressively. For weekly maintenance cleaning, it keeps the tub looking fresh without needing anything stronger.

For routine weekly cleaning, it performs very well. For deeply neglected bathrooms, you may need extra time or repeated applications.

Refill and Packaging

Again, just like the all-purpose cleaner, Attitude’s bathroom cleaner is packaged in recyclable HDPE #2 plastic and compatible with eco-refill cartons (FSC-certified cardboard); it offers a reduced-plastic option compared to traditional single-use spray bottles.

It is not zero waste, but more responsible than most mainstream bathroom cleaners.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • No bleach or ammonia fumes
  • EWG VERIFIED® formula
  • Plant-based surfactants
  • Effective for regular maintenance
  • Light, non-overpowering scent
  • Refillable packaging

Cons

  • Not a disinfectant
  • Requires dwell time (5–10 minutes) for tougher limescale
  • Slightly premium pricing

Attitude Dishwashing Liquid Review

Attitude dishwashing liquid review

After using this Attitude dishwashing soap consistently for close to a year, I can confidently say this is the best non-toxic dish soap I have ever used. I did not expect to feel this strongly about a dishwashing liquid, but here we are. Again, like all Attitude cleaning supplies, the citrus scent is not overpowering at all. It smells light, fresh, and natural, not synthetic or headache-inducing like many conventional dish soaps. The formula has 97% naturally derived ingredients and is EWG verified, vegan, and cruelty-free to boot.

Ingredients

  • Sodium Coco-Sulfate (5–15%): A plant-derived cleansing surfactant made from coconut fatty acids. It creates foam and removes grease effectively, but it’s chemically similar to sulfates like SLS, meaning it can be mildly irritating to sensitive skin with prolonged exposure.
  • Lauryl Glucoside (<5%): A gentle, biodegradable non-ionic surfactant derived from sugar and coconut. Helps lift grease while being much milder on hands than traditional sulfates.
  • Myristyl Glucoside (<5%): Another sugar-based surfactant that boosts cleansing and foam stability. Considered low-toxicity and suitable for sensitive skin formulas.
  • Caprylyl Glucoside (<5%): A mild plant-derived cleanser that also helps solubilize oils and fragrance. Very low irritation risk and commonly used in eco detergents.
  • Aqua (Water): The primary solvent that dissolves and distributes all ingredients evenly.
  • Sodium Chloride: Common salt used to thicken the formula and stabilize viscosity.
  • Citric Acid: Balances pH and helps cut mineral deposits and residue on dishes. Low toxicity.
  • Lauramine Oxide: A foam booster and grease cutter. Generally safe but may cause mild irritation for very sensitive skin.
  • Sodium Benzoate: Prevents microbial growth and extends shelf life. Considered safe at cosmetic concentrations.
  • Potassium Sorbate: Another food-grade preservative that inhibits mold and yeast. Low toxicity.
  • Sodium Gluconate: Helps soften water and improve cleaning efficiency by binding minerals.
  • Glycerin: A plant-derived humectant that helps prevent hands from drying out — supports your claim about leaving hands soft.
  • Camellia Sinensis (Tea) Leaf Extract: Green tea extract with antioxidant properties. Mostly included for skin conditioning and marketing appeal rather than cleaning power.
  • Sodium Hydroxide: Used in tiny amounts to balance pH during formulation. Can be caustic in raw form but safe in finished diluted products.
  • Fragrance Components: Terpineol Acetate / Terpineol / Tetrahydrolinalool / Triethyl Citrate
  • Fragrance compounds contribute to the citrus-lavender scent profile. Generally safe but can trigger sensitivities in fragrance-reactive individuals.

Performance

What really stood out to me, though, was the rinsing time. I wash my dishes in a white basin, and when I use a dishcloth with a small amount of this soap on it, I notice immediately how quickly everything rinses clean. I don’t have to stand there rinsing and rinsing to get that squeaky-clean finish. It saves me so much time because the soap doesn’t cling to dishes or leave behind that slippery residue that takes forever to wash off.

The cleansing power is impressive. It cuts through grease easily and leaves my ceramic cookware, delicate glassware, and food storage containers looking completely clean and clear. There’s no cloudy film, no residue, and no strange buildup. Everything just looks and feels properly washed.

One of the hardest tests I’ve put this dishwashing liquid through was cleaning my griddle plate after preparing a huge holiday breakfast for ten people earlier last year. We’re talking bacon, eggs, grease, the whole situation. It was seriously grimy. Instead of using aplastic-free dish sponge, I went in with myDocduet stainless steel scrub pads along with a dish scrubber.

I expected it to take a while, but honestly, it worked great. With the soap cutting through the grease and the scrub pads doing the heavy lifting, the entire griddle was clean in about five minutes with just two passes. That was the moment I realized how powerful this liquid actually is when it comes to real, heavy-duty kitchen messes.

I also tried their dishwashing liquid formulated for baby bottles, and that one works just as well.

Refill & Packaging

The Attitude dish soap has the same refill system as most other formulas from this brand. The eco-refills make it easy to keep your bottle topped up without constantly buying new plastic containers. From a sustainability standpoint, it aligns well with the brand’s overall environmental positioning, and from a practical standpoint, it means I never run out unexpectedly.

That said, my biggest frustration with this product is the cap and dispensing design. I really feel like it was designed in a way where the liquid will ooze out due to gravity and the overall bottle shape. Way more soap pours out than I actually need for the amount of dishes I’m washing.

You have to be extremely aware and careful when pouring, otherwise you end up wasting product. Considering the soap is priced higher than conventional options, over-dispensing becomes noticeable over time. If they improved the cap flow control, this product would be close to perfect for me.

Is ATTITUDE Dishwashing Liquid Safe?

Yes, I do consider this dishwashing liquid to be a safer alternative to conventional formulas. It’s made with 97% naturally derived ingredients and carries the EWG VERIFIED™ label, which is important for people trying to reduce everyday chemical exposure.

It’s also vegan and cruelty-free, which aligns with the brand’s ethical stance.

In terms of the formula itself, there are no major toxicity red flags. The surfactants are largely plant-derived, and while Sodium Coco-Sulfate can be mildly drying for very sensitive skin, I personally haven’t experienced irritation even with frequent use. The inclusion of glycerin and gentler glucoside surfactants helps balance that out.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Powerful cleansing and degreasing performance — easily cuts through grease and stuck-on residue.
  • Dishes rinse incredibly fast, which saves a noticeable amount of time.
  • Leaves dishes squeaky clean with no cloudy film or slippery residue.
  • Gentle on hands — does not leave my skin feeling tight or dried out.
  • Light, natural scent that isn’t overpowering or synthetic-smelling.
  • Works well on everything I wash, including ceramic cookware, delicate glassware, and food storage containers.
  • The refill system is convenient and reduces plastic waste.
  • More transparent, naturally derived formula compared to conventional dish soaps.
  • Also available in a baby bottle version that performs just as well.

Cons

  • Costs more than conventional or budget dish soaps.
  • Bottle cap/dispensing design releases more liquid than needed.
  • The product can ooze out due to gravity and bottle shape if you’re not careful.

Easier than expected to waste soap when pouring.

Attitude Floor Cleaner Review

Are ATTITUDE products really non-toxic?

Just like with their dishwashing liquid, one of the first things I looked at with this floor cleaner was the ingredient list. Over the last year, I’ve tried dozens of natural floor cleaners. Ever since becoming pregnant, I’ve been much more intentional about the products I use in my home, especially the ones that come into direct contact with my floors. Knowing that soon I’ll have kids crawling around, playing, and constantly touching those surfaces has completely shifted my priorities. I’m no longer just looking for something that cleans well.

I need a formula that’s genuinely gentle, low-toxicity, and free from the harsher chemicals you find in conventional floor cleaners like ammonia or bleach. Floors are one of the most high-contact areas in any home, so whatever I use to mop has to feel safe, not just for me right now, but for babies, pets, and everyday barefoot living.

ATTITUDE’s floor cleaning formula is EWG VERIFIED vegan and cruelty-free. Like most Attitude cleaning supplies, the floor cleaner comes in many different sizes, from 32 to 67 oz.

There are no major toxicity red flags in this formula. It’s free from phthalates, ammonia, bleach, and synthetic colorants, which are commonly found in conventional floor cleaners.

Ingredients

  • Caprylyl Glucoside (<5%): A plant-derived, sugar-based surfactant that helps lift dirt, grease, and grime from floors. It’s considered very mild, biodegradable, and low-toxicity compared to conventional petroleum-based cleaners.
  • Myristyl Glucoside (<5%): Another gentle, plant-based cleansing agent that supports grease removal while being safer for indoor air quality and skin exposure than harsher surfactants.
  • Aqua (Water): The base of the formula that dissolves and distributes all active cleaning ingredients evenly across floor surfaces.
  • Citric Acid: Helps balance the pH of the cleaner while breaking down mineral residue and buildup. It also contributes to the streak-free finish on tile and ceramic floors.
  • Sodium Hydroxide: Used in very small amounts to stabilize pH levels. While caustic in raw form, it’s safe in diluted, finished cleaning products like this.
  • Sodium Carbonate: Also known as washing soda, this boosts cleaning strength and helps cut through grease and stubborn grime. Commonly used in eco cleaning formulas with low toxicity when diluted.
  • Sodium Gluconate: A chelating agent that binds minerals in water, helping the cleaner work more effectively and preventing streaks or residue.
  • Oleic Acid: A plant-derived fatty acid that helps emulsify oils and grease so they can be lifted and rinsed away more easily.
  • Sapindus Mukorossi (Soapberry) Fruit Extract: A natural source of saponins — gentle cleansing compounds found in soapnuts. Adds mild plant-based cleaning power and supports the formula’s natural positioning.
  • Terpineol Acetate / Terpineol / Tetrahydrolinalool / Triethyl Citrate: Fragrance components that create the fresh citrus scent profile. Generally considered safe, but can be a sensitivity trigger for fragrance-reactive individuals.

Performance

In terms of performance, this floor cleaner has honestly impressed me more than I expected. I use it with my steam cleaner, and it really helps the machine pick up grime with ease. Dirt, grease, and everyday floor buildup lift much faster when I use this solution compared to just water alone.

I have a mix of both wood and tile flooring in my home, so any floor cleaner I use has to perform well across different surfaces. The wood runs throughout the entire house (living areas, bedrooms, hallways), while the bathrooms are fully tiled. Because of that, I’m constantly switching between surface types when I clean, and I need something that’s effective but still gentle enough not to damage treated wood over time.

The hardest test for me is everyday foot traffic on the wood floors, especially in the main living areas. Between shoes, pet prints, and general dust buildup, the floors can start to look dull pretty quickly. When I mop with this cleaner, it lifts that surface grime easily and restores the natural look of the wood without leaving streaks or a cloudy film.

Another big one is kitchen grease drift. Even though it’s not visible at first, cooking oils and food splatter travel farther than you think and settle onto the wood floors nearby. This cleaner cuts through that light grease layer without me having to scrub aggressively, which I appreciate because I’m careful about preserving my wood finish.

Then there’s the bathroom tile, probably the toughest environment. Between water spots, toothpaste drips, skincare residue, and the occasional soap spill, the tile floors get messy fast. This solution breaks through that buildup well and leaves the tile looking bright and clean without that sticky residue some natural cleaners leave behind.

The scent is another highlight. It smells really fresh. Light citrus, clean but not overpowering, and it makes the whole space feel freshly mopped without that harsh chemical smell lingering in the air.

A little goes a long way with this bottle. Because you dilute it with water, it lasts a really long time, which makes the value feel much better despite the higher upfront price. The bottle itself is easy to handle, pours cleanly, and I haven’t had any leaking issues at all.

Refill & Packaging

The packaging follows the same eco-conscious approach as the rest of the line. The bottle is made from recyclable HDPE #2 plastic, which is widely accepted in recycling programs and easy to reuse.

What I like most is the eco-refill system. Instead of repurchasing a full plastic bottle every time, you can refill using their cardboard eco-refills, which significantly cuts down on plastic waste. It’s a small change that adds up over time, especially for a product like floor cleaner that you go through regularly.

The bottle design itself is practical — easy to pour, no dripping, no product leaking down the sides — which is a big plus compared to some of the brand’s other dispensing designs.

Is It Pet Safe?

Based on the ingredient profile and the brand’s safety positioning, this floor cleaner is considered safer for homes with pets compared to conventional floor cleaners that contain ammonia, bleach, or phenol-based disinfectants.

That said, “pet safe” still comes with common-sense precautions. Floors should be fully dry before pets walk on them, and the product should always be used diluted as directed. While the ingredients are lower toxicity, it’s still a cleaning solution and not meant for direct ingestion or contact with paws in wet form.

For everyday mopping in pet households, it’s a much gentler option.

Is It a Disinfectant?

No, the Attitude floor cleaner is not a disinfectant.

It’s designed to clean dirt, grease, stains, and grime, but it does not contain registered disinfecting agents that kill bacteria or viruses to regulatory standards.

This is an important distinction. If you’re looking to sanitize or disinfect floors (for example, after illness or raw meat contamination), you would need a separate disinfecting product.

For routine floor cleaning and maintenance, however, it performs very well.

Pros & Cons

Attitude Baby Bottle Wash Review

Attitude cleaners for sensitive skin

Now that I’m preparing for a baby and my due date is getting closer, I’ve been testing quite a few bottle wash formulas with plant-based ingredients. Attitude comes very close to being perfect with its EWG-verified, vegan, and cruelty-free formula.

Ingredients

Just like with the other products I’ve tried from ATTITUDE, the ingredient list was one of the first things I looked at — especially now that my due date is getting closer and I’m being extra mindful about what touches anything baby-related.

  • Coco-Glucoside (<5%): A gentle, plant-derived anionic surfactant made from coconut and sugar. It helps remove grease, milk, and formula residue while being much milder than conventional sulfates.
  • Lauryl Glucoside (<5%): Another sugar-based, non-ionic surfactant that boosts cleansing power and foaming action without irritating sensitive skin. Very low toxicity and biodegradable.
  • Aqua (Water): The base of the formula that dissolves and distributes all ingredients evenly.
  • Sodium Chloride: Common salt used to thicken the liquid and stabilize the formula’s consistency.
  • Sodium Gluconate: A chelating agent that binds minerals in water, helping the soap rinse cleaner and preventing residue on bottles and pump parts.
  • Sodium Citrate: Helps balance pH while improving cleaning performance. Also supports residue-free rinsing.
  • Glycerin: A plant-derived humectant that protects hands from drying out — especially helpful when washing bottles multiple times a day.
  • Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Extract (Colloidal Oatmeal): Known for its soothing, protective, and hydrating properties. Included to make the formula extra gentle on sensitive skin, which is ideal for parents washing baby items frequently.

Overall, this is a very minimal, low-toxicity formula. There are no fragrances, dyes, or harsh surfactants, which is exactly what I want in a baby bottle wash.

Performance

One of the most important tests for me has been milk and formula residue. That cloudy film that sticks inside bottles can be surprisingly stubborn, especially if bottles sit for a bit before washing. This soap breaks that down easily without needing excessive scrubbing, and bottles rinse completely clean without any slippery residue left behind.

I also tested it by washing breast pump parts. Those small components, valves, flanges, and connectors, tend to trap oils and milk fats in tight areas. I’ve found the foaming action on this soap really helps get into those crevices, lifting buildup without me worrying about harsh chemicals sitting on parts that come into direct contact with milk.

I’ve also tested it on sippy cups and silicone bottle nipples, which can sometimes hold onto odor or grease. This formula removes that film effectively while staying gentle on the materials. Everything comes out looking clear, clean, and truly rinsed. What I appreciate most is that it removes grease and grime efficiently while still feeling extremely gentle on my hands. Since baby dishes get washed far more frequently than regular dishes, that balance really matters.

Refill and Packaging

The packaging follows the same eco-conscious approach as the rest of the line. The bottle is recyclable and designed to be refilled using ATTITUDE’s eco-refill cartons, which help cut down on single-use plastic.

From a usability standpoint, the bottle is lightweight, easy to handle with wet hands, and dispenses a controlled amount of product — something I’ve come to appreciate even more when washing multiple small baby items in one session.

Because you don’t need to use much per wash, the bottle also lasts longer than expected, which helps offset the higher price point.

Is Attitude Baby Soap Safe?

Yes, Attitude is one of the safer baby bottle wash formulas available.

It’s unscented, hypoallergenic, dermatologically tested, and specifically formulated for sensitive skin. The absence of fragrance is a big plus, since scent additives are one of the most common irritants in baby products.

The surfactants are plant-derived and very mild, and the addition of colloidal oatmeal makes the formula even gentler for parents washing bottles repeatedly throughout the day.

There are no major toxicity concerns in this ingredient list, and it feels reassuring to use something this minimal on items that babies drink from.

P.S. I’ll be updating this list as I continue testing more ATTITUDE cleaning products. Right now, I’m using the Attitude laundry detergent and the toy and surface cleaner, and I want to spend enough time with each to give a proper, honest review before adding them to the roundup. Once I’ve had a chance to evaluate how well they perform and how gentle their formulas are, I’ll include my findings so the list reflects all the products I’ve personally tried and can confidently recommend.

Final Verdict: Are ATTITUDE Products Really Non-Toxic?

Yes, ATTITUDE cleaners are meaningfully safer and lower hazard than most conventional household cleaners. They omit many toxic culprits that concern parents and chemically sensitive individuals.

ATTITUDE positions its formulas around cleaner ingredients and transparency, and many of its household cleaners do show up as EWG Verified in the Environmental Working Group’s Healthy Cleaning database. Products that carry the EWG Verified mark have been reviewed against strict criteria and avoid ingredients on EWG’s Unacceptable List, plus they include full ingredient disclosure. These verified products have ingredient profiles that scientists say are low hazard based on available research, meaning they do not raise significant health concerns at typical use levels.

It’s true that not every ATTITUDE cleaning product is technically EWG Verified. The company’s own website clarifies that the EWG VERIFIED™ certification currently applies more broadly to their body care lines and that their household products are ranked “green” in the EWG database rather than certified under that specific seal. What is consistent, though, is ATTITUDE’s commitment to avoiding many of the ingredients most people seek to avoid: there’s no ammonia, no bleach, no phthalates, no artificial colorants, no harsh petrochemical surfactants or preservatives commonly linked to health concerns in conventional cleaners.

From spending time with these products myself and looking at multiple formulas for this Attitude cleaning products review
— dish soaps, floor cleaners, and baby bottle wash — I can say that they are definitely gentler and lower hazard than most mainstream cleaning products. They use plant‑ and sugar‑derived surfactants, food‑grade preservatives, and simple chelators that are much more benign than the solvent‑heavy chemistries you find in conventional floor cleaners and degreasers.

That said, “non‑toxic” doesn’t mean completely inert or zero risk in every situation. Even plant‑based or naturally derived ingredients can irritate highly sensitive skin or respiratory systems — especially fragrances, whether natural or synthetic — and safety always depends on how a product is used. Some people with chemical sensitivities still react to natural fragrances, which is worth acknowledging frankly rather than glossing over.

For everyday cleaning around kids, pets, and high‑contact areas, I personally feel confident using these Attitude plant-based cleaners.

FAQs About Attitude Products for Home Cleaning

Are ATTITUDE Cleaning Products Worth It?

In my experience, yes, ATTITUDE cleaning products are worth it for people who care about ingredient quality, transparency, and gentler formulations without sacrificing performance. Unlike some natural cleaners that underperform, I’ve found products like their dishwashing liquid and floor cleaner actually work as well or better than many conventional options. They clean effectively, they rinse clean, and they don’t leave behind harsh chemical smells — all of which justifies the higher price point for me. If your priority is reducing exposure to questionable chemicals, using lower‑toxicity formulas, and supporting more eco‑conscious packaging, then ATTITUDE products deliver value that goes beyond simple cleaning power.

Which ATTITUDE Product Is Best?

Hands down, the ATTITUDE all‑purpose cleaner is the best product from their line.
I’ve tested multiple formulas from them, and while their dish soap, floor cleaner, and baby bottle wash are all solid in their own way, the all‑purpose cleaner stands out for overall usefulness and performance in everyday messes. It’s the one product from ATTITUDE that consistently gets the most use in my home, and I return to it again and again because it never lets me down, even on stubborn household messes.

Is ATTITUDE a Clean Brand?

Yes, ATTITUDE is considered a clean brand because their products are formulated with plant‑ and mineral‑derived ingredients, and avoid many of the common harsh chemicals found in conventional cleaners. It’s worth noting that “clean” is a spectrum rather than a legal term — no product is entirely risk‑free for everyone, and even plant‑based ingredients can cause sensitivities in some people.

Is Attitude Cruelty-Free?

Yes, ATTITUDE is cruelty‑free. The brand’s products are not tested on animals, and they do not require their formulas to be tested on animals by suppliers or third parties. In addition, many of their products carry certifications (such as PETA’s cruelty‑free logo or similar) that independently verify that no animal testing was used in development or production.
